Grab your bike and hit the trails of High Bridge Trail State Park! This bridge is more than 2,400 feet long and towers above the trees at 160 feet above the Appomattox River! This old train bridge is now a destination point of this gorgeous trail. Walk or bike, no matter how you get there just go! Farmville Virginia is a super cute town, with lots to do. Take the trail to the bridge and take in the gorgeous sites then head the other direction and ride right into downtown. You can easily make this a full on day trip! Farmville offers tons of stores, cafes, coffee shops and a rad brewery! Don't have a bike? NO problem! Head over to The Outdoor Adventure Store to rent a bike and explore the town and trail. This is a very bike friendly town as I'm sure you have gathered by now, so there are biking racks all over to leave your bikes.

Check their events before you go - We rode all day and explored until dark where we attended the Firefly Festival! The only time the park is opened past dusk. We watch million of fireflies light up the trees off the bridge under the moon light... It was pure magic.

Places to eat

Uptown Cafe All I can say is YUM! We stopped by here after a long ride into downtown. This cafe is SO cute and the service was wonderful. They offer ice cream, a wide menu of sandwiches and coffee. We shared the tomato mozzarella and mannnnn it was life changing.

TACOOOSSSS and some really good ones. We ate dinner here and they did not disappoint. A cool atmosphere and a wide selection of tacos to choose from. I had the sword fish taco special and that was so packed full of delicious flavor it didn't last long. This place is a MUST.
